Cell Phone vs Bible

Think about it...

  • I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bibles like we treat our cell phone.
  • What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
  • What if we flipped through it several times a day?
  • What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
  • What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
  • What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
  • What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?
  • What if we used it when we traveled?
  • What if we used it in case of emergency

This is something to make you go....hmmmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry
about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Makes you stop and think "Where are my priorities?"

And no dropped calls!

Now the ACLU wants to stop prayer in the U.S. Naval Academy! Put on your spiritual armor!

Before meals at the Naval Academy there is a little prayer or invocation.  Due to the diversity of the cadet's religious backaground at the Academy, the invocation is pretty generic.  However, each midshipman can take the time to thank the Lord for all his/her blessings during this time.

Now the ACLU wants to stop this traditional practice at the Naval Academy.  By the way, they were successful at doing this at the Air Force Academy.  The ACLU is again attacking our Christian principles.  The very Christian principles that this great nation was founded upon.  They always bring up the rights of the Atheists.  Well, how about our rights as Christians!

Why do these things happen in this great country?  Well, it's because evil fights heartily.

We are in a spiritual battle and we need to fight back.  We can't just sit back and complain about it.  Put on your spiritual armor and fight for our Christian principles.  That doesn't mean you have to break out an automatic weapon and run amuck.  However, you can voice your opinion.  I have no problem telling others about practices that go against our Christian values.  I also write to a couple of blogs where I am able to get the word out, albeit in a small way.  If we can all do our bit to promote our Christian values, even if it is in a small way, collectively we can fight this battle.

ADF fights for Christian's rights!

On my "Conservative Blog", Right Wing Squadron, I wrote an article about a student who received a zero on his artwork because it contained a cross and a biblical verse.  You can read about it here to catch up.

Anyway, the ADF (Alliance Defense Fund), an organization that defends Christian rights and often finds themselves going head to head with the ACLU, has successfully defended the rights of the student mentioned above.

Check out this video explaining the victory...

Thanks for the welcome Reynold

I got notification from Reynold the other day that he has resurrected a Jesus Connect website via this blog.  When I saw this I was happy because I have fond memories of me, Don, John Searcy and Reynold and the many hours we have spent using the Internet to tell people about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  If I remember correctly Reynold started Jesus-Connect BBS and I started Cross Connection BBS.  We both had the same focus but different BBS's running on different BBS software and hardware.  During that time of my life I was just learning about personal computers and how they work.  That was back in the days of Fidonet and all of the many flame wars I got involved in while honing my apologetcs skills.  Before you know it the Internet and the World Wide Web took off and Reynold created our very first Jesus-Connect.net website that lasted for quite some time.  WE not only had our website but we also had about 6 people that were helping me to man our many IRC channels on about 6 IRC networks like Dalnet , Effnet, Chatnet etc.  We would be online each night between 8 pm and 12 midnight in our respective IRC channels and would share our faith with anyone that was interested in hearing.

I am looking forward to sharing Christ with you in 2008.  As Christians we live in a real world with real problems and Jesus is the answer to those problems.

A teacher refuses to remove bible from student's view!

After a recent win for the ACLU over a picture of Jesus displayed in a Louisiana court room (read my blog post), it is nice to see that a Christian is standing up for his rights too.  A teacher in Ohio is refusing to remove the bible from his desk.  Read the story below as reported by the Associated Press.

============================================
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio —  An Ohio middle school teacher says he won't obey an order to remove a Bible from view of students.

John Freshwater said Wednesday he agreed to remove a collage from his classroom that included the Ten Commandments, but that asking him to remove the Bible on his desk goes too far.

Officials with the Mount Vernon School District say they don't oppose religion but are required by the U.S. Constitution not to promote or favor any set of religious beliefs.

Freshwater says being forced to keep the Bible out of sight would infringe on his rights.

Mount Vernon is about 40 miles northeast of Columbus.
=============================================

Way to go John!

The ACLU fights for Muslim rights while they fight against Christians. Why is that?

The ACLU consistently fights against those who practice Christianity.  They don't want Christians praying in school.  They don't want our children to recite the pledge of allegiance in school.  However, they bring lawsuits to protect Muslim inmates.

The ACLU brought a lawsuit against the Wyoming Prison system because a couple of inmates say that their mealtime is only twenty minutes.  They say that mealtime is the same time as their prayer time and they don't have time to eat.  Yes, that's right, according to the ACLU we are violating the rights of Muslims.  Never mind that Christians aren't allow to pray in a government facility!  Let's make sure we protect the criminals because they are Muslims!
